Connecting the Gordie Howe International Bridge to the largest ports on the Canada-US Land Border

International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a global initiative celebrating the achievements and contributions of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Among those making an impact is Sarah Lanoue, Environmental Student Associate with Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA).

The Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefits Plan brought comfort and safety to Southwest Detroit through the Delray Home Improvement Program, with free home repairs provided to 106 residences.

Although the Gordie Howe International Bridge is not yet open, it has already left an impact on the Windsor-Detroit region and on the life of Lindsay Bennett. Bennett says this project holds a deep personal significance -- a tribute to the memory of her husband’s late uncle, Dave Cakebread, whose passion for the bridge project continues to inspire her every day.
