Michigan Interchange I-75 Closures

Clark Street Overpass Bridge

  • The right lane on the northbound or southbound Clark Street overpass bridge will close from April 15 – May 31, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.

Livernois Avenue Overpass Bridge

  • The right lane on the northbound or southbound Livernois Avenue overpass bridge will close from April 15 – May 31, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.

Green Street Overpass Bridge

  • The right lane on the northbound or southbound Green Street overpass bridge will close on April 15 – May 31, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

Springwells Street Overpass Bridge

  • The right lane on the northbound or southbound Springwells Street overpass bridge will close overnight from April 15 – May 31, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound or southbound Springwells Street overpass bridge will close from April 27 – 28, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound or southbound Springwells Street overpass bridge will close from May 4 – 5, 2024, for landscaping, and May 6 – 31, 2024, for planter box work, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

Fort Street 

  • The existing parking lane closure on westbound Fort Street between Dragoon Street and Military Street will remain in place until further notice.
  • Two lanes on eastbound Fort Street will close between Green Street and Waterman Street from January 24 – April 30, 2024.
  • Traffic will shift and one lane on westbound and eastbound Fort Street will remain open in each direction.
  • The left lane on westbound Fort Street will close between Green Street and Waterman Street from January 24 – April 30, 2024.
  • Traffic will shift and one lane on westbound and eastbound Fort Street will remain open in each direction.The existing mobile closure on Fort Street between Springwells Street and Clark Street will remain in place until summer 2024, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Only one lane will close. The mobile closure will be less than one hour in duration.
  • Two right lanes on eastbound Fort Street will close between Waterman Street and Livernois Avenue from March 6 – May 15, 2024. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • The left lane on westbound Fort Street will close between Waterman Street and Livernois Avenue from March 6 – May 15, 2024. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • Two right lanes on eastbound Fort Street will close between Livernois Avenue and Junction Street from April 1 - June 28, 2024. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • The left lane on westbound Fort Street will close between Livernois Avenue and Junction Street from April 1 - June 28, 2024. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

I-75 

  • The left lane of northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Wilde Street and Rademacher Street until further notice.
  • All lanes of northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Wilde Street and Rademacher Street until further notice, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right shoulder of the I-75 on-ramp will remain closed between Springwells Street and southbound I-75 until further notice.
  • The existing mobile closures along northbound and southbound I-75 between Schaefer Avenue and Michigan Avenue will remain in place until spring 2024, from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The southbound I-75 exit ramp will remain closed between southbound I-75 and Springwells Street until further notice.
  • The southbound I-75 exit ramp right shoulder will remain closed at southbound I-75 until further notice.
  • The existing right lane closures on northbound and southbound I-75 between Springwells Street and Clark Street will remain in place until summer 2024.

Livernois Avenue 

  • The existing closure on Livernois Avenue between Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks and Fort Street will remain in place until summer 2024.

I-75 Service Drive 

  • The existing closure on southbound and northbound I-75 Service Drives between Central Street and Green
    Street will remain in place until further notice.
  • The existing mobile closures on the northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Clark Street and Scotten Street and also Springwells Street to Rademacher Street until spring 2024 from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Only one lane will close. Closures will be less than 30 minutes in duration during these timeframes for mobilization and demobilization of equipment activities.
  • The existing mobile closures on the southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Clark Street and Scotten Street and also Springwells Street to Waterman Street until spring 2024 from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Only one lane will close. Closures will be less than 30 minutes in duration during these timeframes for mobilization and demobilization of equipment activities.
  • Northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drive will close over a long-term period between Green Street and Waterman Street. Combined with pre-existing Service Drive closures in the area will make the entire northbound and southbound Service Drive closed from Springwells Street to Clark Street.
  • The left lane of southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Witt Street and Govin Street until
    further notice.

The following road closures are in place:

  • Waterman Street between northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drive
  • Dragoon Street between Fort Street and the southbound I-75 Service Drive
  • Green Street between Fort Street and the southbound I-75 Service Drive

  • The left lane on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Central Street and Green Street until spring 2024.
  • All lanes on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Central Street and Green Street until spring 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right and/or left lane closures on northbound I-75 Service Drive between Central Street and Green Street will remain in place until fall 2024 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The existing closures on northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drives between Dragoon Street and Clark Street will remain in place until summer 2024.
  • The left lane of southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Green Street and Waterman Street until summer 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • All lanes of southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Green Street and Waterman Street until summer 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The left lane on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Lewerenz Street and Livernois Avenue until summer 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The left lane on northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Rademacher Street and
    Livernois Avenue until summer 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound and southbound Clark Street overpass bridge will close from April 1 – 5, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound and southbound Springwells Street overpass bridge will close from April 6 – 7, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound and southbound Livernois Avenue overpass bridge will close from April 8 – 11, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound and southbound Green Street overpass bridge will close on April 12, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound and southbound Springwells Street overpass bridge will close from April 13 – 14, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound and southbound Springwells Street overpass bridge will close from April 15 – 16, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on the northbound and southbound Green Street overpass bridge will close from April 17 – 20, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The northbound I-75 Service Drive will close between Casgrain Street and Livernois Avenue from March 27 - April 1, 2024, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. as needed.

Jefferson Avenue

  • The existing intermittent lane closures on Jefferson Avenue between Green Street and Rademacher Street will remain in place until fall 2024, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.
  • Only one lane will close. Closures will be less than 30 minutes in duration during these timeframes.
  • The right lane on eastbound or westbound Jefferson Avenue will close intermittently between West End Street and Zug Island Road from April 22 – May 10, 2024, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on eastbound or westbound Jefferson Avenue will close intermittently at the intersection of Campbell Street from April 22 – May 10, 2024, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The parking lane on eastbound or westbound Jefferson Avenue will close intermittently between Zug Island Road and Campbell Street from April 22 – May 10, 2024, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

Long Term I-75 Closures: As construction of the Michigan Interchange and the US Port of Entry (POE) continues, Bridging North America will extend the temporary closures along Livernois Avenue. Additionally, Cavalry Street and Military Street will remain closed over a long-term period. As a reminder, in July 2020, several streets closed over a long-term period including sections of Dragoon Street, Driggs Street, Harvey Street, Reeder Street and Hussar Street.

Junction Street

  • Junction Street bridge between the northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drives will close over a long-term period.

Springwells Court 

  • Springwells Court northbound and southbound is closed west of the Lafarge entrance to east of the Springwells Court detour from May 15, 2021 until November 23, 2024.

Cavalry Street

  • Cavalry Street will remain closed between the northbound I-75 Service Drive and Fort Street.

Military Street

  • Military Street will remain closed between the northbound I-75 Service Drive and Fort Street.

Post Street 

  • Post Street remains closed over a long-term period between CSX Railroad and the Delray Mechanical entrance.
  • On March 25, 2024, Post Street will close over a long-term period between Jefferson Avenue and South Street. Access will be maintained for Delray Mechanical from Jefferson Avenue.

Campbell Street 

  • The existing long-term closure on Campbell Street between West Jefferson Avenue and Fort Street will remain in place until spring 2024.

I-75 Northbound

  • The Livernois exit-ramp at Northbound I-75 will close over a long-term period.

Construction Activities 

US Port of Entry (POE)

  • Construction activities remain ongoing for interior and exterior components of the buildings and structures.
  • This week, activities include the installation of lighting concrete pole bases, ponds and fences. In addition, crews worked on outfall construction and grading to prepare for concrete pavement. Inside various buildings, crews worked on ceiling installation and electrical work.

US Bridge site

  • Cap construction continued at anchor pier.
  • Installation of main span segment panels continued.
  • Stay cable installation work continues.
  • Approach and back span activities are ongoing.
  • The US bridge tower has reached its full height of 220 metres/722 feet. The jump form system has been completely removed.
  • Crews have removed the falsework bents that worked to support the back span of the road deck. Now, crews continue to stress the stay cables.

Michigan Interchange

  • Construction continues as noted in the Michigan Interchange I-75 Closures above.
  • Siphon work continues in various areas.
  • Crews poured sidewalks and driveways on Campbell Street.
  • In addition, crews painted overpass bridges, seeded and planted trees.
