Bike Rack Design Contest - US

The Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefits Plan includes a commitment to design one-of-a-kind, locally inspired bike racks for installation at locations within host communities and along the expanded trail systems in Windsor and Detroit that connect to the project multi-use path.

The project team partnered with the College for Creative Studies in Detroit to provide students with the opportunity to submit bike rack designs for consideration.

Design requirements included a durable, easily maintainable stand-alone bike rack concept that is functional and sculptural in nature. Students submitted designs for consideration during the fall 2024 semester.

The selected student design will be unveiled at a later date.
