Michigan Interchange I-75 Closures

Anthon Street 

  • Anthon Street will close intermittently between Cavalry Street and Campbell Street from November 7 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Anthon Street will close intermittently between Cavalry Street and Campbell Street from November 4 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

Rademacher Street 

  • Rademacher Street will close at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue from October 23 – November 21, 2025.

I-96 – NEW

  • The right lane on eastbound I-96 will remain closed between Butternut Street and Selden Street through fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on eastbound I-96 will remain closed between the railroad bridge and Michigan Avenue through fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The eastbound I-96 off-ramp will remain closed at Vernor Hwy through fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.

Fort Street – NEW

  • The center turn lane on Fort Street will close between Campbell Street and Morrell Street from 7 a.m. on December 4, 2025, until 6 p.m. on December 12, 2025.
  • The left lane on Fort Street will close between Campbell Street and Morrell Street from 7 a.m. on December 4, 2025, until 6 p.m. on December 12, 2025.
  • The existing mobile closure on Fort Street between Springwells Street and Clark Street will remain in place until winter 2026 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. daily as needed. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Only one lane will close. The mobile closure will be less than one hour in duration.
  • The right shoulder on westbound Fort Street will close between McKinstry Street and Junction Street from October 31 – November 28, 2025. Access to businesses will be maintained.
  • The right lane on westbound Fort Street will close between McKinstry Street and Junction Street from October 31 – November 28, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Access to businesses will be maintained.
  • The existing parking lane closure on westbound Fort Street between Dragoon Street and Military Street will remain in place until further notice.
  • The existing right lane closure on Fort Street between Green Street and Junction Street will remain in place until spring 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The existing right lane and/or shoulder closure on westbound Fort Street between McKinstry Street and Junction Street will remain closed until spring 2025, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right shoulder on westbound Fort Street will remain closed between McKinstry Street and Junction Street until fall 2025.
  • The right lane on westbound Fort Street will remain closed between McKinstry Street and Junction Street until fall 2025, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Two right lanes on westbound Fort Street will remain closed between Crawford Street and Cavalry Street until fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The center turn lane will remain closed on eastbound and westbound Fort Street between Crawford Street and Cavalry Street until fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Two right lanes on eastbound Fort Street will remain closed between Crawford Street and Cavalry Street until fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.

Cavalry Street 

  • The existing closure on Cavalry Street will remain closed between Anthon Street and Fort Street until spring 2025.
    • Detour routes are in place and include the following:
    • Local traffic on westbound Fort Street heading to Cavalry Street will be detoured south on Junction Street, west on Anthon Street to Cavalry Street.
    • Local traffic on eastbound Fort Street heading to Cavalry Street will be detoured south on Campbell Street, west on Anthon Street to Cavalry Street.
  • The right lane on Cavalry Street will close intermittently between the Cavalry Street cul-de-sac and Fort Street from November 7 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Cavalry Street will close at Fort Street from November 7 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on Cavalry Street will close intermittently between the Cavalry Street cul-de-sac and Fort Street from November 4 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Cavalry Street will close at Fort Street from November 4 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

I-75 

  • The right lane on southbound I-75 will close between the Clark Street off-ramp and the Bagley Pedestrian Bridge from December 1 – 8, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The southbound I-75 off-ramp will close at the Clark Street off ramp from December 1 – 8, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Southbound I-75 will close at the Vernor Hwy on-ramp from December 1 – 8, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on northbound I-75 will close between Livernois Avenue and McKinstry Street from November 24 – 26, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on southbound I-75 will close between Springwells Street and the Junction Street Pedestrian Bridge from December 1 – 3, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The southbound I-75 off-ramp will close at Springwells Street from December 1 – 3, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Two right lanes on southbound I-75 will close between Springwells Street and Junction Street from November 24 – 26, 2025, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly as needed.
  • The existing three lane closure on northbound I-75 will continue to shift to the right between the Springwells Street Bridge and Waterman Street until fall 2025.
  • The existing right lane closures on northbound and southbound I-75 between Springwells Street and Clark Street will remain in place until summer 2025.
  • The left lane of northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Wilde Street and Rademacher Street until further notice.
  • All lanes of northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Wilde Street and Rademacher Street until further notice, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right shoulder of the I-75 on-ramp will remain closed between Springwells Street and southbound I-75 until further notice.
  • The southbound I-75 exit ramp will remain closed between southbound I-75 and Springwells Street until further notice.
  • The southbound I-75 exit ramp right shoulder will remain closed at southbound I-75 until further notice.
  • The right or left shoulder of the southbound I-75 on-ramp will remain closed intermittently at Springwells Street until summer 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right or left lane of the northbound I-75 off-ramp will remain closed intermittently at Springwells Street until summer 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right or left shoulder of the northbound I-75 off-ramp will remain closed intermittently at Springwells Street until summer 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right or left shoulder of northbound I-75 on-ramp will remain closed intermittently at Springwells Street until summer 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The existing mobile closures along northbound and southbound I-75 between Schaefer Avenue and Michigan Avenue will remain in place until winter 2026, from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily as needed.
    • Only one lane will close. Closures will be less than 60 minutes in duration during these timeframes for maintenance activities.

I-75 Service Drive 

  • Northbound I-75 Service Drive will close between Waterman Street and Livernois Avenue from December 1 – 5, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The existing closure on southbound and northbound I-75 Service Drives between Central Street and Green Street will remain in place until further notice.
  • The existing mobile closures on the northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drives will remain in place until fall 2025 from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily as needed.
    • Southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Clark Street and Scotten Street and also Springwells Street to Waterman Street.
    • Northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Clark Street and Scotten Street and also Springwells Street to Rademacher Street.
    • Only one lane will close. Closures will be less than 30 minutes in duration during these timeframes for mobilization and demobilization of equipment activities.
  • Northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drive will close over a long-term period between Green Street and Waterman Street. Combined with pre-existing Service Drive closures in the area will make the entire northbound and southbound Service Drive closed from Springwells Street to Clark Street.
  • The left lane of southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Witt Street and Govin Street until further notice.
  • The following road closures are in place:
    • Waterman Street between northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drive
    • Dragoon Street between Fort Street and the southbound I-75 Service Drive
    • Green Street between Fort Street and the southbound I-75 Service Drive
  • The existing lane closures on northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain in place until fall 2025 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
    • The left or right lane of northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Wilde Street and Rademacher Street as needed.
    • All lanes of northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Wilde Street and Rademacher Street as needed.
  • The existing lane closures on the southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain in place until fall 2025.
    • The left lane on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Central Street and Green Street from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
    • All lanes on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Central Street and Green Street from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The existing lane closures on southbound and northbound I-75 Service Drives will remain in place until fall 2025.
    • The left lane on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Lewerenz Street and Livernois Avenue from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
    • The left lane on northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Rademacher Street and Livernois Avenue from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed at the intersection of Junction Street until fall 2025.
  • Northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Waterman Street and Livernois Avenue until fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on southbound I-75 Service Drive will close between Green Street and Lewerenz Street from September 16 – October 17, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • All lanes on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Green Street and Lewerenz Street until fall 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Northbound I-75 Service Drive will close between Rademacher Street and Livernois Avenue from October 2 – November 28, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Southbound I-75 Service Drive will close between Green Street and Livernois Avenue from October 2 – November 28, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right or left lane on southbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed between Green Street and Lewerenz Street until fall 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The existing closure at the southbound I-75 Service Drive between McKinstry Street and Clark Steet will remain in place until fall 2025.

Campbell Street 

  • Northbound or southbound Campbell Street will close intermittently between Driggs Street and Anthon Street until November 7, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.
  • Campbell Street will remain closed between Fort Street and the northbound I-75 Service Drive until summer 2025..

Livernois Avenue 

  • Southbound Livernois Avenue will close between Fort Street and the southbound I-75 Service Drive from December 1 – 5, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The right lane on southbound Livernois Avenue will close between Fort Street and the southbound I-75 Service Drive from November 19 – December 2, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Livernois Avenue will remain closed between Fort Street and southbound I-75 Service Drive until fall 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Northbound Livernois will remain closed between the southbound I-75 Service Drive and W. Lafayette Blvd. until fall 2025.
  • The right lane on northbound Livernois Avenue will remain closed between the northbound I-75 Service Drive and the southbound I-75 Service Drive until fall 2025.
  • The right lane on southbound Livernois Avenue will remain closed between the southbound I-75 Service Drive and Musket Street until fall 2025.
  • The existing closure on Livernois Avenue between Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks and Fort Street will remain in place until fall 2025.

Jefferson Avenue

  • The right lane on eastbound and westbound Jefferson Avenue will remain closed intermittently between Springwells Court and Junction Street until fall 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • The existing intermittent lane closures on Jefferson Avenue between Green Street and Rademacher Street will remain in place until fall 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.
  • The existing closures on the eastbound or westbound lane on Jefferson Avenue will remain closed between Springwells Street and Campbell Street until fall 2025, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed. 
  • The eastbound or westbound lane on Jefferson Avenue will close between West End Street and Springwells Court from October 29 – November 28, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

West End Street

  • The right lane of northbound or southbound West End Street will remain closed intermittently at Fort Street until summer 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

Lafayette Blvd. 

  • The existing closure on eastbound Lafayette Blvd. will remain closed at the intersection of Cavalry Street until fall 2025. 
  • Traffic on Cavalry Street between Lafayette Blvd. and Army Street will be converted to two-way traffic.
  • W. Lafayette Blvd. will remain closed at the Livernois Avenue intersection until fall 2025.
  • Lafayette Blvd. will close intermittently between Dragoon Street and Cavalry Street from November 7 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.
  • Lafayette Blvd. will close intermittently between Dragoon Street and Cavalry Street from November 4 – 24, 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.

Springwells Court 

  • The existing closure on northbound and southbound Springwells Court will remain closed west of the Lafarge entrance to the east of the Springwells Court detour until winter 2026.

Clark Street

  • The right lane on northbound Clark Street will remain closed intermittently at the southbound I-75 Service Drive until late winter 2025.
  • Southbound and northbound Clark Street will close intermittently at the southbound I-75 Service Drive until fall2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
    • Closures will be less than 10 minutes in duration during these timeframes for mobilization and demobilization of equipment activities. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • Southbound and northbound Clark Street will close intermittently at the northbound I-75 Service Drive until fall 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
    • Closures will be less than 10 minutes in duration during these timeframes for mobilization and demobilization of equipment activities. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

Springwells Street 

  • The right lane on southbound Springwells Street will remain closed intermittently between the southbound I-75 Service Drive and Olivet Street until late winter 2025.
  • The right lane on southbound Springwells Street will remain closed intermittently at Fort Street until late winter 2025.

Junction Street 

  • The existing closure on Junction Street between Fort Street and northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain closed until late fall 2025.
  • The existing closure on Junction Street at the intersection of the northbound I-75 Service Drive will remain in place until spring 2025 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.

W. Jefferson Avenue 

  • The left lane on eastbound W. Jefferson Avenue will remain closed at the intersection of Dearborn Street until fall 2025.
  • The right lane on westbound W. Jefferson Avenue will remain closed at the intersection of Dearborn Street until fall 2025.
  • The right lane on eastbound W. Jefferson Avenue will remain closed at the intersection of Dearborn Street until fall 2025.
  • The left lane on westbound W. Jefferson Avenue will remain closed at the intersection of Dearborn Street until fall 2025.
  • Westbound W. Jefferson Avenue will remain closed between Campbell Street and Junction Street through summer 2025, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
  • Starting May 12, 2025, Bridging North America will temporarily close eastbound W. Jefferson Avenue between West End Street and Springwells Court for bike path and sidewalk construction. This closure will be in place until summer 2025.
    • Detour routes are in place and include the following:
    • EB Fort Street Detour
    • Traffic on eastbound Fort Street heading to eastbound W. Jefferson Avenue will continue east on Fort Street, south on Campbell Street, then to W. Jefferson Avenue.
    • SB Springwells Street Detour
    • Traffic on southbound Springwells Street heading to eastbound W. Jefferson Avenue will be detoured east on Fort Street, south on Campbell Street, then to W. Jefferson Avenue.
    • EB W. Jefferson Avenue Detour
    • Eastbound W. Jefferson Avenue traffic will be detoured north to West End Street, east on Fort Street, south on Campbell Street, then to W. Jefferson Avenue.

Rademacher Street 

  • Rademacher Street will close between Fort Street and the northbound I-75 Service Drive from December 1 – 5, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.

Casgrain Street 

  • Casgrain Street will close between Fort Street and northbound I-75 Service Drive from December 1 – 5, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.

Crawford Street 

  • Crawford Street will close between Fort Street and northbound I-75 Service Drive from December 1 – 5, 2025, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily as needed.

The existing closure on northbound and southbound Springwells Court will remain closed west of the Lafarge entrance to the east of the Springwells Court detour until late spring 2025.Long Term I-75 Closures: As construction of the Michigan Interchange and the US Port of Entry (POE) continues, Bridging North America will extend the temporary closures along Livernois Avenue. Additionally, Cavalry Street and Military Street will remain closed over a long-term period. As a reminder, in July 2020, several streets closed over a long-term period including sections of Dragoon Street, Driggs Street, Harvey Street, Reeder Street and Hussar Street.

Junction Street

  • Junction Street bridge between the northbound and southbound I-75 Service Drives will close over a long-term period.

Springwells Court 

  • The existing closure on northbound and southbound Springwells Court will remain closed west of the Lafarge entrance to the east of the Springwells Court detour until late spring 2025.

Cavalry Street

  • Cavalry Street will remain closed between the northbound I-75 Service Drive and Fort Street.

Military Street

  • Military Street will remain closed between the northbound I-75 Service Drive and Fort Street.

Post Street 

  • Post Street remains closed over a long-term period between CSX Railroad and the Delray Mechanical entrance.
  • On March 25, 2024, Post Street will close over a long-term period between Jefferson Avenue and South Street. Access will be maintained for Delray Mechanical from Jefferson Avenue.

I-75 Northbound

  • The Livernois exit-ramp at Northbound I-75 will close over a long-term period.

Construction Activities

US Port of Entry (POE)

  • Construction activities remain ongoing for interior and exterior components of the buildings and structures.
  • This month, crews continue to work on landscaping while furniture is moved into various buildings.

US Bridge site

  • The two sides of the bridge deck are now connected over the Detroit River.
  • All stay cables have been installed.
  • Approach and back span activities are ongoing.
  • The US bridge tower has reached its full height of 220 metres/722 feet.
  • Ongoing activities include the installation of fencing, signage, lighting and systems such as fire suppression and drainage.

Michigan Interchange

  • Construction continues as noted in the Michigan Interchange I-75 Closures above.
  • This month, the focus is on paving, sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
