Windsor-Detroit Cross-River Tour
The Windsor-Detroit Cross-River Tour is an international Community Benefits Plan initiative that celebrates the unique culture, history and diversity of the Sandwich/west Windsor and Delray/Southwest Detroit communities through interpretive signage that will be placed along pedestrian and cycling paths on the lands surrounding the Canadian and US Ports of Entry.
The project team has worked closely with the Community Stories Committee, a group made up of local community members and subject-matter experts, as well as other historical and cultural associations in the region to identify possible sign content for inclusion. For more information about the roles and responsibilities of Community Stories Committee members, read the Community Stories Committee’s Terms of Reference. | Español
In spring 2022, the project team is surveyed the communities to help understand the topics of most importance for possible inclusion on the signs. It is anticipated that between six-to-eight signs will be installed around each Port of Entry, leading to a total of 12 – 16 signs.
The Windsor-Detroit Cross-River Tour survey closed on April 6, 2023. Feedback received through this survey will be shared with the project team for consideration in the Windsor-Detroit Cross-River Tour. Final topics will be shared with the public at a later date.
