Delray Home Improvement Program
Timing: 2021 – 2024
Partner: Local Initiatives Support Corporation Detroit (LISC Detroit)
Launched in 2021, the Delray Home Improvement Program was a $4 million (CDN) investment that provided free home repairs for eligible homes or duplexes in the area surrounding the Gordie Howe International Bridge project in Delray, Southwest Detroit community. Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Detroit administered the program on behalf of the project team.
106 homes received improvements to their homes which included:
- 55 roof repairs/replacements
- 44 HVAC improvements
- 19 door replacements
- 61 window replacements.

The Delray Home Improvement Program was included in the project’s Community Benefits Plan based on feedback and requests from the Southwest Detroit community. The project team appreciates the contributions of many local stakeholders that participated in the program’s development.
