Ottawa, Ontario, January 25, 2018 — The Government of Canada is making investments that will help create good middle-class jobs, promote trade and productivity, and grow the economy. The Gordie Howe International Bridge will support economic growth by improving connections between Canada and the U.S. and enabling the continuous flow of people and goods through a safe, secure and efficient Windsor-Detroit trade corridor.
Today, the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, announced that the Government of Canada has launched an open, transparent and merit-based selection process to seek applications from diverse and qualified Canadians from across the country to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) through a Government of Canada Notice of Appointment Opportunity.
The Government is looking for candidates with senior-level executive leadership experience, expertise in the delivery of major infrastructure projects, proficiency dealing with senior levels of government as well as public-private partnerships, among other applicable knowledge, skills and abilities.
Applications for this opportunity can be submitted through the Government of Canada’s Governor in Council Appointments website.

- WDBA is a not-for-profit Canadian Crown corporation that manages the procurement process for the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance of the Gordie Howe International Bridge between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. WDBA is also responsible for overseeing and managing the construction and operation of the new crossing.
- André Juneau is currently serving as the interim CEO of WDBA. The Government is now seeking to permanently fill this position through an open, transparent, and merit-based selection process.
- The Gordie Howe International Bridge will ensure direct connectivity with existing highway networks on both sides of the border and will have enhanced border infrastructure to help move goods and travelers quickly and efficiently while ensuring safety and security.
- Work on the new bridge is underway on both sides of the border to prepare the site for construction with more than $350 million in ongoing works at the Canadian and U.S. project sites.
- WDBA will complete the procurement process to select the private-sector partner this year and is committed to starting construction in 2018.
