March 8 marks International Women’s Day. It’s a global day to uplift women and celebrate their achievements, while also acknowledging the work still to be done to achieve gender parity.
The Government of Canada’s theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is Every Woman Counts – a reminder that all women, of all ages, backgrounds and identities, have a place in Canada.
At Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA), we are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. We take pride in making our organization a place where diversity is embraced in an inclusive and accessible culture so that all employees feel a sense of belonging.
We’re proud of the efforts to achieve gender parity at WDBA. We look forward to continuing our work to create a space where women can thrive and seeing these numbers grow.
- 45% of WDBA employees identify as women.
- 42% of WDBA’s leadership team (directors and above) identify as women.
The professionals working at WDBA and on the Gordie Howe International Bridge project have backgrounds in engineering, accounting/finance, sustainability, communications, human resources, construction, procurement, law and much more. Every day they contribute to the long-term success of our organization and the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
