The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is up for two more prestigious industry. AECOM, a member of Bridging North America and responsible for the design of the bridge, Ports of Entry and Michigan Interchange, was nominated for Autodesk’s 2020 AEC Excellence Award for Infrastructure Design in the larger project category as well as the 2020 CanBIM Design and Engineering Award.
The Autodesk AEC Excellence Awards competition celebrates the people, innovations and projects of the global architecture, engineering and construction community. The awards are presented annually to the people, projects, and technologies behind the world’s best in architecture, engineering, and construction. The Gordie Howe International Bridge was selected as a finalist from a field of 260 entries spanning 35 countries. The winners will be announced in late October in advance of the virtual awards ceremony to be held on November 17, 2020. You can view the finalists on the awards website.
The 2020 CanBIM Innovation Spotlight Awards are presented each year to projects and companies who demonstrate leadership and innovation by using technology or new methodologies that improve productivity. The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is one of six nominees for the 2020 Design and Engineering Award. CanBIM is a nation-wide, not-for-profit organization that serves as Canada’s business voice for the building and infrastructure community.
