The Gordie Howe International Bridge project has received yet more accolades – this time for its design and innovation.
At the 2021 CanBIM Innovation Spotlight Awards, AECOM, as the design lead in Bridging North America’s Design-Build team, was recognized with an unprecedented three awards for their work on the Gordie Howe International Bridge project, including the Design & Engineering Award, the Global Envoy Award and the Best in Innovation honour.
The Design & Engineering award is given to a CanBIM member architect, engineer and/or consultant which demonstrates leadership and innovation through working with or implementing digital processes and methodologies that improve productivity.
The Global Envoy award is given to a Canadian-based CanBIM Member working outside of Canada on an International project.
The Best in Innovation award is based on overall excellence in the use and implementation of digital technologies and processes. Candidates are selected among the winners in other categories.
The annual awards ceremony honours the most innovative Canadian companies in the building and infrastructure industry and helps benchmark trends in the evolution of digital technology.
