On Sunday, September 17, 2017, Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) participated in the City of Windsor’s Open Streets event. #OSWindsor covered an 8-kilometre span from Sandwich Street in Windsor’s west end to Ford City in the east where streets were closed to traffic to allow people to walk or cycle and enjoy activities and exhibits along the way.
WDBA’s exhibit was located at the intersection of Sandwich and Mill Street, a few kilometres east of the site of the Gordie Howe International Bridge. The WDBA team had a blast holding a Gordie Howe-inspired hockey shootout, connecting with members of the community and discussing the bridges multi-use path that will connect pedestrians across the Windsor-Detroit border.
We are looking forward to partnering with Open Streets Detroit on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Come visit us along West Vernor Highway for another day of fun. The event is free for everyone.
