Gov. Rick Snyder’s statement on pedestrians and cyclists being able to use the Gordie Howe International Bridge

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today issued the following statement after the announcement that pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use the Gordie Howe International Bridge.

"Pedestrians and cyclists being able to use the Gordie Howe International Bridge is wonderful news.” said Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. “Outdoor enthusiasts throughout our region will be able to experience a unique recreational opportunity as they cross the Detroit River. Today's announcement underscores the fact that this new bridge will provide many benefits for Michiganders and our neighbors in Canada. As always, Michigan is fortunate to have a strong partner in Canada as we work together on the delivery of this once-in-a-lifetime project."

Un artiste canadien de renom a été choisi pour concevoir l’illumination architecturale du Pont international Gordie Howe

L’équipe du projet du Pont international Gordie Howe est heureuse d’annoncer le nom de l’artiste qui réalisera la troisième et dernière commande d’art public du projet, l’illumination architecturale du pont.  Douglas Coupland, artiste visuel contemporain, créateur et romancier, développera un concept d’éclairage artistique qui soulignera le lien symbolique entre le Canada et les États-Unis.

Une œuvre d’art autochtone sera installée dans le cadre du projet du Pont international Gordie Howe

L’installation de la deuxième œuvre d’art public commandée dans le cadre du projet du Pont international Gordie Howe est en cours. Intitulée Aazhoge, cette sculpture autoportante de 3 mètres (10 pieds) de haut est un reflet contemporain de la culture et les traditions des peuples autochtones du Canada, en particulier des Premières Nations anichinabées locales. 

Le gouvernement du Canada lance un processus de sélection pour le poste de président de l’Administration du pont Windsor-Detroit

Aujourd’hui, l’honorable Sean Fraser, ministre du Logement, de l’Infrastructure et des Collectivités, a annoncé qu’un processus de sélection était en cours pour le poste de président du conseil d’administration de l’Administration du pont Windsor-Detroit (APWD).
